 We produce a range of butchery products, smoked meats, smoked fish and cooked meat products using traditional methods, such as dry curing and hot smoking, and using only the finest ingredients.

 

Our passion is to produce quality products in the time-honoured fashion with hand crafted skills.

We have grown from our strong farming roots in West Cumbria and are driven by a true passion for real food.

Our Parfait Pâtés & terrines have won numerous Great Taste Awards. We have a variety of hand made Pâtés & Terrines available which are ready to serve!

Taste of The Lakes has been creating delicatessen meats since 1985 and we remain true to our passion for maintaining traditional curing techniques.

We source salmon from quality producers and then smoke in-house using traditional methods and the finest natural ingredients.

Taste of the lakes is a family business which focuses on adding value to quality cuts of meat, fish and poultry at our food manufacturing facility in Cumbria. We use traditional curing and cooking techniques that enhance all our products

BACON & PANCETTA

We source our pork locally where possible but always aim to get the best quality. Our belly pork is cured traditionally using our own recipe of herbs and spices.

SLOW COOK MEATS

We specialise in slow cooked products using the sous vide cooking process.  Duck Legs marinated then very slowly cooked in duck fat to capture that wonderful flavour. Great Taste Award Winner.

PÂTÉ 

Our Parfait Pâtés have won numerous Great Taste Awards. We have available, hand made Pâtés with varieties including Chicken Liver Pâtes, Brussels pâtés, Duck & Orange Pâtés and many more!

SMOKED SALMON

Smoked salmon slices are vacuum-packed, ready for sale as fresh products or to be prepared at home. The smoking adds flavour to the meat which is firm and pink in colour.

‘Taste of the Lakes’ is a family run business whose roots are as Cumbrian as its products. Originally the company took its name from the farm upon which the owner’s family had tended the land for generations and it was established with the single aim of providing quality farm products into the local area.

From these small beginnings the company went on to become one of the leading producers of fine Smoked Scottish salmon in the United Kingdom but the passion for providing high quality, locally produced foods which was the inspiration behind the formation of the original company remained and in 2008 the family formed ‘Taste of the Lakes’ to allow them to pursue those original goals.
